Artist’s Book

This artist’s book was developed within the scope of my Master’s thesis in Drawing at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon (FBAUL), titled 'Amazon and Laurissilva: A Dialogue Between Ancestral Forests, an Autoethnobotanical Study Through Drawing'. It serves as a visual and reflective journal, bringing together the entire creative and research process carried out throughout the project.

The book combines drawings, notes, authorial photographs, and thoughts recorded during my travels to the Amazon and Laurissilva forests, capturing sensory impressions and memories of my direct contact with these environments. In addition to documenting the evolution of my ink and charcoal works, this publication reflects on the relationship between the act of drawing and the experience of nature, allowing the forests to manifest themselves through lines and textures.

More than just a technical record, this artist’s book is an essential part of the project, functioning as a space for experimentation, where creation, research, and observation intertwine. It represents the connection between art and nature, memory and expression, consolidating my exploration of drawing as a medium for dialogue with ancestral landscapes.
